Hard Coolers: The outside of a hard cooler, such as a water cooler, is made from high-density polyetherene, and the inside from polypropelene. It's all insulated with Igloo's trademark Ultratherm.

Soft-sided coolers: Soft-sided coolers, like backpack coolers, are made from a variety of materials on the outside: nylon, polyester, polyvinylchloride. The insides are made from the insulating polyvinylchloride, and are insulated with Polartherm.

Thermoelectric: Thermoelectric coolers tend to be made of similar materials, but don't use ice. These coolers can be plugged in at the home, office, or even in to a car for easy transporting. Everything stays cold, without the distraction of ice.
