Precor Treadmills

Precor is one of the leading companies in the treadmill business. Precor has been producing treadmills since the early 1980’s and continues to show strong sales.

Precor treadmills are in the higher price range among home treadmills. Precor’s five models range in price from $2,199 to $3,999. Precor puts high quality components into their treadmills and they are well supported. Due to their success in other types of fitness equipment Precor should be around for a long time. Precor offers lifetime warranty coverage of frames and welds, 10 years coverage of parts and wearable items and one-year coverage of labor.

Features

All of Precor’s models feature their Ground Effects™ Impact-Control System. The Precor’s displays show distance, time, speed, calories and heart rate fitness score and course profile. Some Precor models feature a safety key that the treadmill won't run without. When the key is replaced, the treadmill restarts at the same point in the course and you don't lose statistics. Other Precor models feature Integrated Footplant Technology whereby the motor control system helps regulate slight speed variations, preserving your natural gait. As you go up in the Precor line course selection improves. The top of the line offers manual, track, five preprogrammed courses, random, two custom courses, three interval courses, heart rate, weight loss, fitness test and two goal courses.

Pros/Cons

Precor’s product line shows the most strength in the middle of the pack machines. There, Precor’s performance stands out among the competition due to Precor’s stable pricing and the rise in price of the competitors. Lower priced models just do not offer enough for their higher price when compared with other treadmills with similar features and components. Most consumer opinions of Precor treadmills are positive with the most common negative comment being price.
