Weight machines recreate the movements of free weight training, but with added safety. The machines help to control your movement so that you can be sure you are lifting in the safest and most productive manner.
Most weight machines are designed in similar ways. The machine will have a series of cables, pulleys, and/or levers set around a metal frame with one or more padded benches. They will include a device that resists pushing, pulling and lifting. Users can adjust the resistance to increase the weight as they grow stronger. Common exercises include leg extension and curl, chest press, biceps curl and triceps extension.
