Fitness Books Review

A guide to top sellers

Fitness and the role it plays in your life is critical to good health. With America's expanding waistline, fitness books are quickly becoming a popular way to begin and sustain proper condition and better health.

A wide variety of fitness and exercise health books are available nearly everywhere. Online fitness books  are also becoming increasingly popular and can be found with ease. The following is a cursory look at the different types of fitness health books that can be commonly found.

Well known instructors – Richard Simmons, Susan Powter, John Peterson, Tony Little, Jane Fonda, and Billy Blanks are all popular fitness instructors that have also published a variety of fitness books. These are typically very good books as they have usually proven their methods well before they write a book.

Overall fitness books – Being physically fit, in its most generic sense, simply means being in good health. The basic belief of health books on overall fitness is that being physically fit is a result of regular exercise and proper nutrition and diet. These health books usually fall into several of the following categories: agility, balance, speed, strength conditioning, cardiovascular conditioning, flexibility, and body composition.

Task oriented fitness books – These health books focus on conditioning and endurance for specific tasks. Examples are marathon training, cross training, wind sprints, heavy strength training, kick boxing, or any number of others.

Physical exercise health books – Physical exercise is using some activity, such as jogging, playing basketball, or even walking to sustain overall fitness and health. These health books often focus on developing athletic ability and the skills associated with the particular activity. Exercise has long been considered one of the most important factors for maintaining fitness and promoting well-being. Health books in this area typically fall into one of these three categories: Aerobic exercise like walking or running, flexibility exercises that focus on improving your range of motion, and anaerobic exercise like weight training.

Nutrition and diet health books – Having a balanced diet and proper nutrition is just as important to fitness as physical exercise. Nutrition plays even more of a critical role when you are exercising because your body requires more nourishment. Health books in this category focus on improving your diet and achieving proper nutrition.
