Pub tables have a tradition going back hundreds of years to the earliest pubs, or bars, of Ireland and England, though they have become a serious part of American culture as well. They are as integral a part of pub life as the drinks, the music, and the conversation.
Pub tables stand higher than normal dining tables, with surfaces between 36 and 42 inches, opposed to the more common table height of 28 inches.
Traditionally pub tables are made of solid wood, but these days you can find them in many other materials, including metal, and with a variety of tabletop materials like marble or mosaic tile. These tables are great set into a cozy corner or alongside a pool table for a good view of the action.
