Electrical Testers

There are various types of electrical testers to test an array of electrical systems and devices found around your home. The testers are required to prevent serious injury or death if you are doing any work on electrical systems.

A continuity tester is one common electrical tester that is great for testing light switches. This tester is used to determine if an electrical circuit, or path, can be made between two points - a light switch is a good example of this type of circuit.

Electrical testers typically consist of an indicator and two leads to attach to the device being tested. In the case that a complete electrical circuit is established, the indicator display is activated. Other types of electrical testers are a voltmeter, ohmmeter, ammeter, and multimeter. Other, more sophisticated, testers are also available.
