Air Purifiers

A number of different air purifiers are on the market today. Some are purifiers designed to work on entire homes or offices, and others are designed for single-room usage. Also, be aware that different air purifiers are designed to accomplish different tasks.

Some air purifiers simply remove contaminants and impurities from your environment. HEPA, or High Efficiency Particulate Air Filters, are simple filters that work to remove airborne particles. However, these types of filters do not remove other pollutants such as gases.

Activated charcoal is the most common method of removing gases from your environment. The carbon in the charcoal binds with pollutants to remove them from the atmosphere. Ionic air purifiers work in a similar fashion. Ionic air purifiers release negative ions that bond with harmful particles and remove them from the air.
