An alternative to air conditioners
An evaporative cooler - sometimes called a swamp cooler or a water-cooled air conditioner-consumes much less electricity than the more common type, refrigerated units.
In fact, evaporative coolers can consume as little as one-fourth of the energy required to power a refrigerated air conditioner. Evaporative coolers only need a small amount of energy to power small motors (such as a pump, fan, or blower), since the heat absorption generated by the system happens through the natural process of evaporation of water into the air.
Every evaporative cooler requires regular cleaning and maintenance to keep the cooler functioning optimally and to prevent damage to the unit's internal parts.
