Humidifiers

The great thing about humidifiers is that they are relatively inexpensive and easy to use. A certain amount of humidity is needed in any environment. Too much humidity can cause bacteria, mold, and fungus to thrive. Too little humidity can cause an increase of dust and static electricity. Experts say a good measure to go by is between 35 and 50 percent humidity.

Humidifiers work to regulate how much humidity is present in an environment. Fairly simple appliances, humidifiers consist of three basic parts ' the wick, the fan, and the reservoir. Prior to use, the reservoir is filled with the water that will be used to increase moisture in the air. The wick is basically the filter that absorbs the water and regulates how much water is released into the air, and the fan releases the water from the wick into the atmosphere.
