Track Lighting

Track lighting's sleek lines aren't just things of simple beauty, they're also incredibly useful.

Track lighting is perfect for highlighting focal points such as art or mantels in your rooms or for illuminating workspaces such as kitchen countertops or desks. Essentially composed of many swiveling "heads" along a track that encases wiring and mounts to a ceiling, track lights allow for many small, direct points of light as opposed to a single overhead fixture.

Track lighting heads come in different sizes - from narrow spots to large wide floods - and utilize different bulbs, though the most popular are halogen.

As opposed to general incandescent light bulbs, which produce light when the filament inside the glass bulb heats up, halogen bulbs are made with quartz and are filled with a halogen-based gas that allows the bulb to produce brighter light for a longer time.
