Over time, things slip through our filters and screens and make their way into the drains, causing them to clog. There ...s nothing more disturbing than a pool of standing water from a clogged drain in your sink or bathtub. And we've all had to face the nightmare of overflowing toilets.
Luckily, a number of different drain openers tackle these issues. When it comes to toilets, using a plunger as a drain opener is the most common and preferred method. However, dealing with a particularly stubborn clog might call for the use of a 'snake' which can go down the length of the pipe in order to clear the blockage.
Plenty of chemical drain openers are also available. Most use hydroxide of potassium or sodium, which is basically lye; the extremely powerful, and not to mention hazardous ones, use sulfuric acid. See the articles below to learn more about drain openers.
