Faucets

Faucets

Water faucets usually feature either a combination of hot and cold taps or, more commonly in the United States, what are known as single lever taps. Single lever taps are a somewhat more complicated form of faucet that uses a single valve to control the amount of water as well as the temperature of the water by up and down and side to side movements.

Many contemporary water faucets are designed with built-in thermostats to more closely monitor the temperature of the water. Faucets with separate taps for hot and cold usually include indicators such as a red marking or "H" for hot and either a blue or green marking or "C" for cold. In the United States, hot and cold taps are standardized by having the hot tap positioned on the left side of the faucet and the cold tap positioned on the right.
