Solder and Flux

Using solder and flux to complete a soldering job is an extremely delicate process. You will need a few basic supplies in order to complete a soldering job. First, you will need a soldering iron, which looks more like a pen or wand than a regular clothing iron. The solder itself is an alloy usually of aluminum and lead. The flux is a cleaning resin that ensures soldering two objects together by making sure they are clean.

Solder comes in various degrees of softness, which indicates the degree of its melting point. Different metals require different melting points for the solder. All kinds of metals can be soldered.
