One of the most common tub stoppers is the switch tub stopper. This type of tub stopper features a handy switch that is simply flipped to activate a sort of trap door mechanism in the drain that prevents the passage of water. The switch on the tub stopper is flipped again in order to allow the water to drain out.
The other type of tub stopper is simply a piece of rubber made to fit snugly over the drain. Rubber tub stoppers usually come with a metal ring or chain attached to them to allow you to easily extract the stopper from the drain when you are finished using it.
Another type of tub stopper is the flip-it device. This type of tub stopper is similar in design to the switch tub stopper installed in bathtubs, except that it fits directly over the drain like a rubber stopper and features a switch that allows the tub to drain.
