The standard, wall-mounted water cooler is better known as a water fountain. Water is stored in a container located inside the fountain so that you do not have to wait for the water to cool before it reaches the spout. There are also freestanding, floor-model water coolers that do not attach to a building's water tap. Growing concerns over the quality of tap water have greatly increased the prevalence of freestanding water coolers.
The freestanding design entails a large bottle of filtered water set atop a unit with a spout. Many of the freestanding water coolers have a refrigeration feature that keeps the water cool for long periods of time. However, most freestanding water coolers are not designed with a drainage system. They typically only have a small basin to catch minor spills. Freestanding water coolers can be found in many business offices. See the articles below to find out more about water coolers.
