Disposable Cameras

The disposable, or single-use, camera is basically just a box camera sold with a roll of film installed. Disposable cameras are only used once. Some disposable cameras are made with an integrated flash and there are even waterproof models for underwater photography!

The disposable camera is perfect for casual users who don't own a camera. As many as 36 nice-looking photos can be taken before turning the camera in for processing. New to the market, "disposable" digital cameras are made for people who want to upload photos to a computer.

Disposable cameras are great for situations where an expensive camera might be easily stolen or damaged. They are also handy for spontaneous photos when a regular camera isn't available.

Invented in the mid-1980s by Kodak and Fujifilm, the disposable camera uses 35mm film, and the housing is usually recycled after it has been used. To learn more about disposable cameras, please check out the articles below.
