Computer Hardware

The term "computer hardware" can be used to describe nearly every physical component of a computer. Generally speaking, computer hardware is any part of a computer that is a physical object, or something you can touch. On the other hand, "computer software" describes things like programs or games.

The most obvious objects that people think of are internal or external components of a computer. Internal computer hardware would be a hard drive, RAM, or a motherboard. Things like keyboards, mice, and scanners are considered external computer hardware.

People are most often interested in computer hardware when it comes to upgrading or enhancing certain aspects of a computer. Additional RAM or a new processor, for example, can greatly speed up a slow computer. Peripherals, such as joysticks, can enhance the capability of a computer, allowing it to do something it couldn't before. For more info on computer hardware, check out the following articles.
