The first is an interesting concept Philips calls Ambilight. This is a feature that uses soft lighting that emanates from the back of the screen onto the wall. The light can be customized by color schemes, or set to match the colors being viewed. This is supposed to relax the eyes and produce a better picture in dim light situations.

Where resolution and image enhancement are concerned, the new Philips models incorporate features such as the resolution enhancing Pixel Plus 2 technology, 3D comb filter for better color separation, and Digital Natural Motion for razor sharp and flicker free imaging. Active Control Plus analyzes the incoming signal and automatically adjusts for optimal picture clarity. The ambient light sensor configures the picture according to the surrounding light of the viewing room.
