Types of Toddler Beds

Transitioning to toddler-hood

A toddler bed is perfect for you child when he or she outgrows the crib, but hasn't quite graduated to a full size bed. These pint size options are just right for that special little someone. Many styles are available for boys and girls. Matching accent furniture ties the whole room together. Toddler beds keep your child comfortable while easing them along to the next step in the bed growing process.

Toddler bed types

There are almost as many toddler bed styles as there are adult styles! From classic to contemporary, wood to metal, you're sure to find the perfect fit for your room. Get your kids favorite cartoon character, or a colorful eye-catching spread to get your toddler in bed when you want him or her to go.

Toddler bed choices

Before choosing a toddler bed, make sure it is certified by the Juvenile Products Manufacturers Association. Although most beds come with built in side safety rails, sometimes you'll need to purchase these separately for your toddler. Some beds are considered all-in-one beds and allow a child to grow with the bed. These will allow you to adjust your child's sleeping place as he or she grows from a toddler bed up to a twin or full size.

Customize your toddler bed look by getting a model that includes a shelf or table alongside.  The flexibility will come in handy while the child is getting acclimated to the bed.  Put a stuffed animal or a glass of water bedside to keep things comfortable.

Every baby has to come out of the crib sometime, but not all of them are ready for the jump up to a "big kid" bed.  This is where a toddler bed can be the perfect solution.  The right size for your small child to learn the ins and outs of real bed activity without the crib sides to hold them in.  Try a toddler bed to ease both you and your child's transition!
