Many action film's characters have been transformed into action figures for playtime enjoyment or collector's investments. From James Bond to Star Wars, Lara Croft to Catwoman, action figures are available to expand the character's adventures beyond the film's plot, providing a tangible link to the fictional creation.

Comic book characters, beyond those already illustrated in film, are also popular action figure inspirations.
