Building Toys

Wooden blocks are the classic basic building toys, followed by Tinker Toys, Lincoln Logs, Erector sets, Legos and K’Nex brands to mention just a few. These sets lead children through guided construction models, and then unleash kids to create their own structures. Magnetic building toys possibly have the easiest connection method.

Children also enjoy building toys that allow them to make their own tracks for racing cars, marbles, or other rolling objects.

Building toys packaged in sets to create a specific structure can be teamed with basic or other specific collections for freestyle constructions. Scale representations of real structures are popular challenges. Materials can either be used solo or in cooperation with others for group projects.

Many building toy sets have small parts that present a choking hazard for young children. Look for age specific construction sets for children under 3.
