Cooling Racks

Cooling Racks

A must for every working kitchen or bakery, a cooling rack is the ideal tool for cooling foods like cookies, cakes, pastries, pies and other baked items. A cooling rack allows food to slowly cool to room temperature where it can easily be eaten or used in continued preparation. Cakes are good examples of cooling rack use. Each layer must be cooled before final assembly. Cookies need time on a cooling rack to firm up for proper enjoyment.

There are several styles and sizes of cooling racks available. Some racks feature non-stick wire surfaces that make it easy to extract cookies. Clean up is simple when using a cooling rack, as it usually just needs to be wiped of or washed lightly in the sink.
