Maybe you live alone, or are simply the only person in your household who likes their eggs prepared this way. Then there might not be any reason for you to invest in a large egg-poaching or egg cooking appliance that is designed to poach or hard-boil up to a half-dozen eggs at one time. Perhaps a single egg poacher is all you really need. Single egg poachers, obviously, only have a capacity of about one egg. Single egg poachers feature a tiny 5-inch pot with a durable, nonstick poaching insert. The pot itself is like any other regular sized pot and is typically manufactured from stainless steel while the poaching insert is generally made from a nonstick material such as Teflon. Most single egg poachers are dishwasher safe. They also come equipped with a stainless steel lid in order to trap the heat during the egg poaching process.
