Making an omelette seems a simple skill to achieve, unless you have had a perfect omelette and tried to recreate it at home. Having either the correct sized frying pan or a specially created omelette pan can help.
The proper pan to use for a two to three egg omelette, is a well balanced 10-inch frying pan. The 10-inch size provides the optimum surface area for creating the best tasting omelet. It takes some practice to develop the proper flipping skills required to fold an omelette in half. But a hard spatula can be used to lift the edges of the omelet, making it much easier.
Another option is a specially designed omelette pan. This omelette pan is essentially a hinged frying pan. Half the egg mixture goes into either side of the pan, ingredients are layered on top, and when the eggs are almost set, the two sides are closed together.
