Popular Trivets

What's popular is what's perfect for you.

Deciding what you need in a trivet is your first step. Do you make a lot of casseroles, or large dishes? Entertain with tea regularly? Do you need to keep your dishes warm while it's sitting? Once you've decided what you'll need your trivet for, you're halfway done!

Reflect your own style.

Trends today are most appreciated when personal style can shine through. Because kitchens and dining rooms are the places families come together, your personality is more appreciated. So don't just copy the latest kitchen home decor show. Trivets today can blend with any of today's popular kitchen styles:

Old Country: This kitchen has white-washed or natural wood cabinets, with classic tile counter tops and a window overlooking a country garden. A natural wood trivet will look great underneath those perfect pies. Or add some charm with a simple iron trivet on your counter.

Traditional Kitchen: With sleek cabinets with glass doors, soft, tiled countertops and classic colors, fruit and floral patterns, a rose trivet or other ceramic tile trivet will look fantastic.

Contemporary Kitchen: With modern appliances, granite countertops, and glass backsplashes, this kitchen, and probably the chef, is ahead of the times. A good, electric warming trivet and an electric stone table trivet helps with multi-tasking. An elegant, brass rose-shaped trivet, or intricate iron or framed trivet adds interest.

Family Kitchen: This kitchen is full of fun and individuality. It's probably where the pets eat, the kids hang out, and the family chats throughout the day. Make it fun! Try a dog shaped trivet, or a cat trivet, with fun characters on tile. Sandstone trivets are very durable, and straw trivets soften things up. An electric warming trivet can also come in handy.

Wear and tear

All trivets are not necessarily created equal. While all are durable and meant to withstand heat and hold weight, metal trivets, such as cast iron or wrought iron, can be passed through the generations. These trivets will rarely show wear and tear.

Tile trivets and sandstone trivets will almost never need to be replaced, but they may not withstand a few falls! And while straw trivets are attractive, simple trivets, they can sometimes show the most abuse. However, it takes years before most straw trivets show any frays.

Never out of style

Trivets will always be a popular kitchen and dining accessory, as long as countertops and table tops need protecting. Whether you're looking for a classic tea trivet or a fun, eclectic trivet, they're built to be durable and stand the test of time.
