Potholders

Potholders are not only handy, they can also add a touch of style to any kitchen decor. Used to prevent burns from hot lids, panhandles, and baking pans, potholders provide an ideal way to manage heated cooking items in the kitchen. Styles of potholders range from simple padded squares, to hand insert mitts. Some potholders are now made from silicone, which provides a heat resistance as well as a protective barrier from hot oil and boiling water. Potholders are also ideal for protecting counter and table surfaces when setting down hot pans, plates, or pots.

Oven mitts work much the same as potholders while offering more protection by covering the entire hand and wrist. Potholders are commonly used to add to kitchen decor. Many potholders are available in a wide variety of colors and design patterns that reflect the charms of the kitchen.
