So you've made the leap and bought yourself a crock pot. Now you want to get your money's worth. Here's some good news for you: there are literally thousands crock pot recipes out there. Almost anything you can think of can be prepared in some way in a crock pot. Below are just a few simple crock pot recipes that might entice you.

 

Crock pot chili

It almost seems like the crock pot was invented with this delicious recipe in mind. You will need the following ingredients for this crock pot recipe: 2 pounds of ground chuck, one green pepper, one onion, 2 or 3 ribs of celery, a large can of crushed tomatoes, a can of tomato sauce, cayenne pepper, a teaspoon of garlic salt, a teaspoon of pepper, and 2 cans of your favorite beans. Simply brown the beef before putting it in the crock pot, then add the rest of the ingredients and cook for up to 8 hours on the low setting.

 

Crock pot beef stew

For this crock pot recipe you will need 10 small potatoes, 12 small whole white onions, 8 ounces of baby carrots, a green or red pepper, a few cups of beef broth, 1 to 2 pounds of beef stew meat, ½ teaspoon of oregano, ¼ teaspoon of paprika, a tablespoon of parsley, a tablespoon of Worcestershire sauce, 3 tablespoons corn starch, 3 tablespoons water, ½ tablespoon of pepper, and ½ tablespoon of salt. Place the bell pepper, beef, potatoes, carrots, and onions in the crock pot. Combine the rest of the elements, except the corn starch and water, in a small bowl then add to the crock pot. Cook for up to 10 hours. In the last 15 to 20 minutes, dissolve the corn starch in water, add it to the crock pot, and then turn on high, stirring occasionally.

 

Crock pot chicken with artichokes

This crock pot recipe calls for two packages of Bearnaise sauce mix, half a cup of dry white wine, half a teaspoon of tarragon, half a teaspoon of garlic powder, three green onions, eight ounces of cooked ham, a pound of red potatoes, a bell pepper, a package of frozen artichoke halves, and a pound of boneless chicken breasts. In the crock pot, mix the sauce, tarragon, garlic powder, and wine. Then add the rest of the ingredients and cook for six hours on the low setting.
