Electric woks are designed to work in a fashion similar to standard cook-top woks. They have the same bowl shape and are typically used to stir fry meats and vegetables at a high temperature. This combination of sauteing and steaming works well to seal in the natural flavors of the food.


Typically, electric woks feature a non-stick surface and a variable heat control unit. Some models can disconnect from the power dock to allow for portability and ease of cleaning. Lids for electric woks are either solid or clear and are vital in the cooking process. Other features include removable heat controls and heat-resistant handles. Some electric woks are even dishwasher safe if power cord is removed.
