A kitchen pantry is intended to be a private storeroom with items that are easy to see and obtain, and with convenient pantry storage systems this is highly possible.
Going to the pantry with custom storage systems can be like going to a store stocked with all favorite ingredients and products without actually going to a store.
However a disorganized or messy pantry lacking storage systems may leave you wanting to go to the store and never opening the pantry door.
Don't be afraid of the kitchen pantry
Pantry storage systems are here to help not hurt.
For a kitchen pantry that is in the building or planning stage, a pantry that is being remodeled, or a pantry simply organized for the first time or reorganized, many options for pantry storage systems have been created.
Some questions to consider for pantry storage systems:
Design? What are your needs?
Do you need a custom pantry? To some degree, many people require their pantries and storage systems be customized.
A separate room for pantry food as in a walk in pantry, a kitchen furniture pantry available in varying sizes, or dedicate a couple of kitchen cabinets?
Doors for the food pantry? If so, consider glass or etched glass in the doors, so items are visible without opening the doors.
What are budget concerns?
What types of items will be stored in the kitchen pantry?

Contain it
Transferring food items, especially cereals and grains, to airtight plastic, glass, or metal containers can be a good idea for three main reasons:
1. Keeps food fresher longer.
2. Saves pantry space. Bulky boxes and packaging can use up more space that the actual food they contain.
3. Prevents pantry bug infestation.
Name it
If you do decide to transfer food items into other containers, be sure and label the container.
A simple label of 'cereal,' for instance, will suffice. Or be more descriptive. It's your pantry.
Beyond food
It may be that the kitchen pantry is full, but what you really need is a pantry storage system for extra dishes and stemware.
In this case, consider a butler pantry.
This is usually a room that is off of the dining room instead of the kitchen. The design of a pantry design is planned with your entertainment needs in mind and its cabinets, woodwork, and storage systems are designed to complement the dining area.
Here cabinets with etched glass doors show off fine china, yet provide storage.
