All About Fabric Chairs

Maintaining the upholstery.  Cleaning the upholstery of club chairs is often overlooked.  Remember, over time, the upholstery can soak up oils from clothing and skin.  Vacuuming the fabric is a great way to keep the upholstery clean and free of dust.  Professional cleaning from time to time is also helpful for maintaining the attractive appearance of your chairs.

Clean before accumulation of dirt.  It is especially important to clean the club chairs before you notice the accumulation of dirt. Unfortunately, when dirt becomes readily visible, the stains are set in and may not be easily removed from your club chair. A good time frame for routine maintenance of upholstered furniture is at least once a year.

Leather club chairs

Leather is durable.  Unlike manufactured textile fabric club chairs, leather club chairs can be easily maintained and are incredibly durable. However, leather will fade when it is in direct sunlight, so it is a good idea to keep leather chairs out of the sun. Also, be careful not to place leather club chairs next to heating units or registers. Heat may dry out the leather and make it brittle.

Cleaning leather is simple. Use a mild detergent and water to remove dust and topical dirt from your leather club chairs. You only want to dampen the cloth; there is no need to completely soak it. Always completely dry the leather club chair surfaces after cleaning.

Use a leather conditioner.  A helpful way to keep the club chair material soft and supple is to use a leather conditioner. Sometimes called hide food, leather conditioners are widely available and are usually sold in kits that assist with cleaning and repair.

Following these simple maintenance tips will ensure that your club chair will look great for years to come.
