Leather Club Chair Upholstery Do's and Don'ts

You'll want to remember these simple do's and don'ts to keep your leather club chair in top condition

Do:

Regularly dust or vacuum leather club chairs 

To prevent watermark stains, dab any spills with a soft white cloth dampened in club soda or lukewarm distilled water. Never use regular tap water.

If a stain goes unnoticed and penetrates the leather club chair, use a soft cloth dampened with lukewarm distilled water to massage the stain and surrounding area.

Use a soft cloth like a chamois or a soft sponge to prevent scratches or abrasions on the leather.

As you clean the leather club chairs, wipe lightly and in one direction.

Clean with a dry cloth and let the leather air-dry.

Don't:

Don't place a leather club chair in direct sunlight. Remember the sun acts as a natural bleaching agent. Over time, leather club chair upholstery will lighten or discolor in natural sunlight.

Don't place leather club chairs on or near heat sources. Heat can cause upholstery on leather club chairs to crack and become brittle.

Remember:

Leather is a natural product and will require care to maintain the natural beauty of the hide.

For minor or slight scratches on the surface of a leather club chair, use a chamois or clean fingers to gently buff the scratch.  Friction and heat from rubbing helps redistribute the wax in the surrounding area to cover the scratch.  This technique may not work on deep scratches.

Kids and pets can be extra hard on leather upholstery, sometimes causing more severe scratches and scuffs.
