Redefining Room Design

New decorating products offer an easy way to dramatically change the look of a room.

Here is one concept that's simple. Create a frame around a room feature just as you would put a frame around a picture. This could include a home theater, a bed, a fireplace or a desk in a study.

To make this wall size frame you could hire a finish carpenter or simply install one of the new all wood pre-constructed frames from Head Wall™ at a fraction of the cost. Each system has been designed for the average home owner to install with no special tools required. All of the fasteners, hardware, and even a free laser level are included for an easy, no mess assembly. The unique clip hanging systems also allows the homeowner to easily remove the system should that ever be desired.

All of the Head Wall™ frames are fully constructed and come in five pieces, two columns, two headers and a cap, none weighing over 25 lbs. Typically the frames are 4” deep by 8” wide and 7’ tall. All frames are adjustable from 8’ wide to 9’-6” and each column includes a base notch-out so that existing floor moldings do not have to be removed.

To accommodate a variety of interior designs there are four standard styles to choose from, all constructed from high grade hard maple and available both unfinished or in furniture grade stain finishes. Primed Poplar is also available for those customers who opt to field finish their frame to match or compliment existing trim. For added effect, the frames can be accessorized with factory installed low voltage recessed lighting which simply plug into an outlet.

Treating the back wall (area inside the frame) can also provide unique and dramatic effects. To create a contrasting look, this area can be accented with paint, wall coverings or fabric as examples. Fabrics add texture, warmth, acoustical value and hide wall imperfections. They can also be matched to, or accent window treatments and bedding. The back wall is also a great area to introduce a theme such as Disney, NASCAR or the NFL into a children’s room.
