Console Tables

While the word hall in ancient times evoked a much larger space than our contemporary use of the word, either understanding is important. Ancient halls were the places for important announcements or gatherings, and our modern halls are the walkways to those kinds of gathering spaces.

That said, make your halls historical with an appropriately placed console table. Console tables' long, slim construction makes them perfect for placement along or at the end of your home's halls. Many console tables are rectangular in shape and are supported by two to four legs, though some consoles are more cabinet or chest-like with drawers and doors and semi-circular in shape. Some contemporary consoles also have a large decorative base stemming from the center of the table.

Consoles are often a set of sorts, as well, with coordinating stools or mirrors.
