Tool Sharpener 175

Tool Sharpener

Tools like shears and pruners are only as effective as the sharpness of the blade. The more use they see, the blades get dull and marred. When this happens, a tool sharpener is necessary to keep cutting tools in good working condition.

Many basic garden tools can be sharpened using a belt sander and 150 grit paper. While very rudimentary, it is fairly effective for small jobs. For a sharper blade, many handheld units are available to get those shears cutting like the day they came home.

Most handheld tool sharpeners simply have one or two metal posts which grind down the blade's edge as it slides across. With different levels of coarseness, this style is good, but can be time consuming for larger jobs.

For more complex tool sharpening, like curved blades or multiple tools, dedicated sharpening machines are available with grinding heads for any job.
