Wheelbarrow

The wheelbarrow is a common site in a multitude of environments. From construction sites to the backyard, wheelbarrows make hauling any material easy.

The wheelbarrow is one-wheeled cart that is pushed by a single person using the lever handles at the rear. The bin of the cart can be made from nearly any material from wood to metal, depending on the needs of the user. While the one-wheel design is the standard, two wheel models can be found and offer greater stability when hauling heavier loads.

The wheelbarrow goes back to the third century in China. This handy transport was originally designed to haul wood and military supplies. The original design was pulled from the front. It wasn't until the thirteenth century that Europeans reversed the wheel and put the motive power in the rear.
