Tetherball

Tetherball is a truly simplistic game which is best played by two people. The only equipment required is a ball which is attached to a stationary pole by a length of rope. Both players hit the ball in opposite directions, trying to wrap the ball's tether around the pole. When the ball hits the pole, above a designated mark, a point is scored.

Only a small area is needed to play and any surface such as dirt, gravel, grass, or asphalt is adequate. Portable tetherball poles make this fun, informal game even more attractive for outdoor events, in lieu of permanently installing a large metal pole in a yard or at a park.
